10 Years + going forward
Ten years ago today, on 1 December 2012 I created this very account. At the time I was still a young unexperienced kid with barely any online communication abilities, let alone any art skills. As time marched on, I eventually found a way to express myself and my interests using a pencil and paper, and although the drawings that resulted started out more or less amateur, I can definitely claim they've improved in some way or another since...unlike DeviantArt's increasingly bumbling management. :/ At the same time, I ended up growing over the stupid things I did earlier in my Internet life, when I was less aware of what I did on social media and what was happening around me, and this includes the name that I initially gave this DA account as well as my YouTube channel in 2012. As I approached my anniversary year, I came to eventually disregard this nickname for personal reasons, and also as I believe I can't be free to associate my current content style under these circumstances;
Trying to open up
Hey peeps. So, this is something I feel like I need to vent a bit about, since it's been starting to affect me in a lot of aspects in life. For the past two or so years, IRL/personal events have started to take a toll on me mentally and psychologically, and combined with the effects from a certain recent health crisis, it's beginning to leave me stressed out and sometimes more depressed than often. Lately, I'm going through yet another depressive episode in mental and psychological terms after a personal crisis of mine which started in May. During this I usually have thoughts like, 'I'm tired of everything', 'there's no hope for me anymore',
End of 2020 + 2021 plans
Well, 2020 has been quite the s***show, so to speak. Police brutality, racism, conflicts, a terrible explosion in the Lebanese capital, and of course, the COVID-19 pandemic, which is still spreading like crazy across parts of the world, and on top of which new, more contagious mutations are emerging. Thankfully, as the year ends, there seems to be good news, as vaccines begin distribution in several countries for emergency use, and polio is getting closer to being wiped out globally after eradication in Africa. So, after a gruesome and tragic year, what's in store for the upcoming one? As 2020 and everything that's been going on in the year left me (and I guess so many others) out of motivation, I plan to start 2021 fresh by being more productive. I already got myself a brand-new Wacom tablet (Wacom Intuos Pro S, to be exact) yesterday, and I am still practicing with it just now, which hopefully will leave me time to try out new ideas. :0 I also want to improve my drawing skills by
(Rant) Why, DeviantArt? Why?
(Rant and Swear Warning! Please read at your own risk!) Sigh. Can I just talk about how current DeviantArt and Eclipse are still getting on my nerves lately? First, the way how faves get added. The drag-and-drop feature no longer exists, so whenever I see something I like in the "More Like This" section or the stacks in the Watch notifications page, now I have to open everything in a new tab just so I can fave everything all at once. But of course, that's just a death trap for my already slow browser, judging Eclipse is already memory-hungry as it is, like most modern web designs (*cough* new Twitter *cough* YouTube Polymer). Now, I could just use only one tab and browse on THAT, but it's very time-consuming nowadays. It even got to the point where I literally had to use AdBlocker Ultimate to block the "More Like This" section so I wouldn't have to deal with this BS as much. Then, there's the Core Lounge that they just recently announced. While it does in fact sound like a good idea
